<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a user's convenience by separating a print object from a design object to cause the objects to be distinct even when a tape on which the design object is formed beforehand is used. <P>SOLUTION: A printing apparatus includes: a cartridge holder 7 to/from which a tape cartridge 31 that can supply a tape to be printed 101 with a design object area and a print object area can be attached/detached; a platen roller 182 that conveys the tape to be printed 101; a thermal head 16 that forms the print object for the conveyed tape to be printed 101; an object sensor 60 that detects the design object area; and a control section that controls the drive of the thermal head 16 so as to form the print object in the print object area without forming the print object in the design object area based on the result of the detection by the object sensor 60. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
