<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical needle capable of reducing the whole length of a bellows member when the bellows member is contracted without impairing durability of the bellows member and capable of preventing or controlling effects on the skin of a patient: and a method for manufacturing the bellows member. <P>SOLUTION: The medical needle 10 includes the bellows member 16 to be elongated as a protector 20 is moved toward the distal end relative to a needle body 12. The bellows member 16 includes first shaped parts 42 constituting one side of a bellows part 36 of the bellows member and formed with a relatively large fold width, and second shaped parts 44 constituting the other end side of the bellows part 36 and formed with a relatively small fold width.
