EXHAUST PURIFICATION CATALYST AND EXHAUST GAS PURIFIER OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust purification catalyst with a high catalytic activity at low temperature and a high level of durability at high temperature, which purifies an exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine, and an exhaust gas purifier of an internal combustion engine using the exhaust purification catalyst.

SOLUTION: In the exhaust purification catalyst, a noble metal particle is supported on a surface of a silicon carbide particle. The catalyst is the noble metal-supported silicon carbide particle 1 in which the noble metal particle 3 covered with an oxide layer 4 is supported on the surface of the silicon carbide particle 2.
