PURPOSE: A drill rod rotation device of a drill machine for groundwater development is provided to safely protect a low speed hydraulic motor by preventing the rotating output of a high speed hydraulic motor from being delivered to the low speed hydraulic motor. CONSTITUTION: A drill rod rotation device of a drill machine for groundwater development comprises a gear box, a low speed hydraulic motor(5), a high speed hydraulic motor(6), a spline, a rotation gear, a low speed drive gear, a high speed drive gear, a hydraulic clutch(7), and a hydraulic circuit. The drill rod rotary shaft of the gear box is rotatable. The low and high speed hydraulic motors are mounted on the left and right sides of the gear box, and rotate low and high speed rotary shafts inside the gear box. The spline is formed in the low speed rotary shaft, and delivers the rotating output of the low speed hydraulic motor to the low speed drive gear. The rotation gear is delivered with the rotating output of the low and high speed hydraulic motors at the same time, and rotates the drill rod rotary shaft. The low and high speed drive gears are separately installed in the low and high speed rotary shafts, and are connected to both sides of the rotation gear. The hydraulic clutch vertically moves the low speed drive gear for coupling or releasing from the rotation gear. The hydraulic circuit operates the low speed hydraulic motor, the high speed hydraulic motor, and the hydraulic clutch.
