PURPOSE: An upper type motor driven column device is provided to greatly improve the absorption of operating noise by absorbing tilt rod displacement through a hinge structure with a telescopic housing on the tilt up/down of a tilt rod. CONSTITUTION: An upper type motor driven column device comprises a column tube(3), a telescopic unit(10), and a tilt unit(20). The column tube surrounds a lower steering shaft(2) which is connected to an upper shaft(1) and a gear box. The telescopic unit is mounted in the column tube for a telescopic function which pulls or pushes the steering wheel towards a driver. The tilt unit is mounted in the column tube for a tilt function which upwardly or downwardly inclines the steering wheel.
