PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a boost circuit and the like capable of quickly starting a compensation operation of the boost circuit independently of a voltage remaining in an input smoothing capacitor even in the case that instantaneous interruption or reduction of an input voltage or the like occurs.

SOLUTION: A boost circuit for detecting that an output voltage reduces lower than an output setting value and compensating a voltage to be supplied to a DC-DC converter, has an input detector for detecting an input voltage or an input current. In the case that the input detector detects that the input voltage or the input current reduces lower than a rated value, a compensation operation of the boost circuit is started.
