Provided in the present invention is a method for controlling a pause in printing, comprising: transmitting imaging data to an imaging component, also transmitting one printing signal while transmitting the imaging data of each page, and the imaging component printing the imaging data when the printing signal is received; generating a pause printing command when a reason for pausing is received; suspending the transmission of the printing signal to the imaging component on the basis of the pause printing command, and the imaging component suspending the printing of the imaging data when the printing signal can no longer be received. Also provided in the present invention is a device for controlling the pause in printing, comprising: a data receiver unit used for receiving job data from a host side, a data processing unit used for converting the job data received into the imaging data, a control unit used for issuing the pause printing command when the reason for pausing from the host side is received, and a printing unit used for transmitting the imaging data to the imaging component, for transmitting one printing signal while transmitting the imaging data of each page, and for suspending the transmission of the printing signal to the imaging component when the pause printing command is received.
