The substrate has an opaque layer comprising a recess (4) with a region in which the layer has a transmission factor. An opaque trapping layer is applied on rear side and/or front side of the substrate, and has a transmission factor smaller than the former transmission factor. The recess is filled with a material, and the opaque layer has a transparent/translucent film on a side facing the front side and/or rear side of the substrate and covering the recess. The opaque layer is formed as a paper layer with plant and/or plastic fibers or homogeneous plastic layer i.e. foil. An independent claim is also included for a method for production of a substrate.
