<p>A compact case 10 for cosmetics is slidably movable between an open and closed configuration. The case comprises: a housing comprising a support portion 18 and first and second sliding portions 12,14, the first and second sliding portions being horizontally slidable relative to the support portion and being horizontally slidable relative to each other; and movement translation means coupled to the first and second sliding portions. The movement translation means are adapted to translate horizontal sliding movement of the first sliding portion relative to the support portion into horizontal sliding movement of the second sliding portion relative to the first sliding portion so as to move the case between the open and closed configuration.
