The vehicle roof (1) has linkage portions (4,5) which are adjusted by the operation of the drive device (8) in the lateral guide rails (7) towards the rear portion of roof portion (6) to open the folded slab roof (2). The tensioning cable (9) having tensile force is provided with respect to tension spring. A transmission lever is arranged between the tension spring and tensioning cable. The tension spring and tensioning cable are arranged on both sides of the pivot bearing on the transmission lever.
