PURPOSE: A real time lane detection device and a recording medium thereof are provided to accurately detect a lane in various lighting conversion environments by selecting candidate areas. CONSTITUTION: A candidate area setting unit(120) sets an area including a value corresponding to brightness related to a channel converted by a color space conversion unit(110) as a lane detecting candidate area. A binary image generation unit(130) generates a binary image by using the set candidate area. A lane determination unit(140) determines a lane by extracting a straight component from the set candidate area. A lane verification unit(160) verifies the determined lane.
