<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance brightness of a displayed image while suppressing observer's perception of mixing of a right-eye image and a left-eye image. <P>SOLUTION: An electro-optical device 10 includes a plurality of pixels PIX disposed corresponding to each intersection among scan lines 32 of M lines and signal lines 34 of N rows and alternately displays a right-eye image GR and a left-eye image GL for each display period P. In a preparation period S within each display period P, a driving circuit 40 supplies gradation potential X[n] corresponding to predetermined gradation G0 (for example, black gradation) to each of the plurality of pixels PIX in a K lines unit (K is a natural number not less than two).
