<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve characteristics of conductive powder by coating the carbon material with a metal or a metal oxide and forming a metal- or metal oxide-coated carbon material, while using an inexpensive carbon material instead of an expensive carbon nanotube. <P>SOLUTION: The metal- or metal oxide-coated carbon material includes a carbon material formed of bamboo charcoal, of which the surface has particles or a thin film of the metal or the metal oxide formed thereon, and is obtained by a production method including a step to modify the surface of the bamboo charcoal which has been subjected to a high temperature treatment with an inorganic acid, and a step to reduce the metal salt on the surface of the bamboo charcoal with a polyol method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
