A coupling assembly for connecting the aft end of an air duct (42) to the compressor rear shaft in a gas turbine engine includes a retaining ring (56) disposed in the central bore of the compressor rear shaft. The retaining ring (56) has a first set of tabs (62) extending axially therefrom, and the air duct (42) has a second set of tabs (68) extending axially from its aft end.
