A gear pump, wherein when the teeth of a pair of gears are meshed with each other, an agglutinated dedendum formed at the corner of a tooth does not cut off the tooth flank of a tooth facing that tooth and is not collapsed between the tooth faces of these teeth meshed with each other. The tooth faces (3, 4) meshed with each other are formed along an involutes curve, and the pair of gears (1, 2) having an addendum thickness t<SUB>0</SUB> secured in design at the tips of the teeth (1a, 2a) are meshed with each other while maintaining zero backlash. The teeth (1a, 2a) of the gears (1, 2) are so formed that their addendum thickness t<SUB>1</SUB> is thinned more than their addendum thickness t<SUB>0</SUB> in design by cutting corners (P1, P2) formed by the tooth faces (3, 4) positioned at the rear of the gears in the rotating direction and the tooth crests (10, 11) thereof. |
