<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device a frame of which is narrow, a substrate for a display device, and a manufacturing method for a display device. <P>SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, the display device comprises a first substrate, a second substrate, a display layer, a sealing part, a projecting part, and an interval adjustment layer. The display layer is provided between the first and second substrates. The sealing part surrounds the display layer between the first and second substrates. The projecting part is provided along the outer edge of the sealing part outside the sealing part on a first principal surface of the first substrate, which faces the display layer. The interval adjustment layer is provided along the outer edge outside the sealing part.
