FIELD: physics.SUBSTANCE: illuminator has a heat-removing base with a hole for radiation output, light-emitting diodes mounted on the periphery of the hole, at a distance from which there is a radiator in form of a concave layer of photoluminescent material, and a light reflector with a concave light-reflecting surface, the radiator and reflector arranged in series with their concave sides facing the light-emitting diodes and the output hole. The radiator has a multilayer structure and includes monoluminiferous conversion layers lying on the thickness of the radiator on the direction from the light reflector as the wavelength of the spectral maximum of the radiation of the photoluminescent phosphor falls in corresponding monoluminiferous layers. When primary radiation from the light-emitting diodes falls on the surface of the radiator, the white light resulting from the mixture of the reflected primary radiation and the secondary radiation of the photoluminescent converter enters the hole in the heat-removing base. The surfaces of the radiator and the reflector can be in form of a cut-off ellipsoid of revolution, particularly a sphere or paraboloid, having the principal axis perpendicular to the plane of the hole in the heat-removing base, or a cylinder cut-off by the plane of the output hole. To improve heat removal, thermal contact is provided between the convex surface of the radiator and the concave inner surface of the reflector, the outer surface of which can be in form of a finned heat sink which is merged with the heat-removing base.EFFECT: invention enables to design a high-power semiconductor source of white light with improved heat removal.13 cl, 12 dwg, 1 tbl |
