The present invention pertains to a tread pressure electricity generation device that converts tread pressure from an automobile driving on a road into power for generating electricity, and that drives a generator with this power to generate electricity. The present invention addresses the problems of enabling installation in a road to be performed easily and of enabling post-installation maintenance to be performed easily. This tread pressure electricity generation device is formed with: a box-shaped road member (1) having the same width as a traffic lane in the road where the device is to be installed, and the upper surface of which is a removable road surface part (1a); multiple tread pressure receiving parts (2) installed consecutively in the passing direction so as to ascend from and descend toward the road surface part (1a); a biasing means (3) that biases these tread pressure receiving parts in the ascending direction; an ascending/descending rotation conversion mechanism (4) operated by the ascending/descending operation of the tread pressure receiving parts (2), said operation being generated when an automobile passes by; a pump device (5) for generating compressed air, which is driven by the output from the ascending/descending rotation conversion mechanism; a compressed air storage tanks (6) filled with the generated compressed air; a pneumatic motor (7) driven by the compressed air; a generator (8) that generates electricity using the rotational drive power of the pneumatic motor; and a battery (9) that rectifies the generated electricity and is charged by the generated electricity. |
