The invention relates to a sound-damping sandwich panel (10), which has: a first layer (20) for sound damping and/or sound absorption and a second layer (30) for sound deadening and/or thermal insulation. The second layer is rigidly connected to the first layer (20) on the first main side (32) of the second layer and is intended to be connected to a component (8) to be acoustically improved on the second main side (38) of the second layer. The sound-damping sandwich panel is characterized in that the second layer (30) is a bitumen/plastic foam layer having a density of 0.2 to 0.9 kg/m3, preferably 0.25 to 0.5 kg/m3, and in particular 0.3 kg/m3. The invention further relates to a layer for sound damping and/or sound absorption and a sound-deadening layer for the sandwich panel (10) and to a method for attaching a sound-damping sandwich panel (10) to a component to be acoustically improved.
