A non-uniform region compensation hardware device in a flat panel display is provided to compensate for the non-uniform regions in a de-mura or mura-free field by using a digital processing process. A non-uniform region compensation hardware device in a flat panel display includes at least one non-uniform region determining unit(21) and at least one non-uniform region compensating unit(23). The non-uniform region determining unit receives video signals and determines whether the video signal corresponds to a non-uniform region pixel or to a normal region pixel according to position information of non-uniform regions. The non-uniform region compensating unit compensates for the video signal using a digital processing scheme according to a determined result from the determining unit. A database(15) stores the position information of the non-uniform regions. The non-uniform region compensating unit includes at least one of a mathematical operation unit, a logic operation unit, a direct mapping unit, and a dynamic operation unit. |
