<p>Provided is a sprocket and elastic crawler assembly capable of inhibiting forceful local contact between contact teeth and meshing parts. During braking of a crawler vehicle advancing in the direction of the arrow A on a downward slope, appreciably more braking force is applied to a rubber crawler (50) than during ordinary braking. Accordingly, the pressing force of the contact teeth (18) pressing on projecting parts (70) is greater than the pressing force during ordinary braking. The rubber constituting the projecting parts (70) therefore deforms on the release side, and the sloped surface (18B) of the contact teeth (18) makes surface contact with the side surface (70A) of the projecting parts (70). In other words, the contact teeth (18) and the projecting parts (70) can be inhibited from making forceful local contact.</p> |
