METHOD OF IMPLEMENTING INFORMATION-ANALYTICAL FUNCTIONS OF GEOINFORMATION SYSTEM

FIELD: information technology.SUBSTANCE: method of implementing information-analytical functions of a geoinformation system (GIS) involves use of GIS processing basic functions by multiple users who are not experts in the field of geoinformatics over the Internet. The method also involves use of databases located on remote servers, and user of bitmap and vector graphic information, laying layers with a wide data spectrum on a layer with a geographic base, creating and storing personal geoinformation data on one remote server. GIS processing results are stored on a user personal computer without participation of the user through a GIS application which is a program module prepared by an expert in the field of GIS technology. Further, the GIS application creates and sends to the user a set of currently available samples of GIS processing results in form of cartographic presentations. The user then compares the previously set information-analytical geoinformation task with samples of the GIS processing results and selects the must suitable sample.EFFECT: wider field of use and more users geoinformation systems.1 dwg
