A firing pin lock for a rotary bolt firearm has a plunger (7) . Rotation of the bolt (1) is used to move the plunger (7) into a position from which the plunger (7) may engage with a face. Eengagement can only occur when the firing pin (2) has reached the required limit of travel with a firing pin spring under maximum load , deemed the cocked position . The firing pin (2) is locked against further travel under the influence of the firing pin spring until rotation of bolt (1) to battery causes plunger (7) to disengage. |
