PURPOSE: A magnetic chuck is provided to maintain a constant magnetic force all the time when a steel plate is decent by not forming in the lower part of a magnetic cell of the outermost portion contacting to the steel plate. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic chuck comprises a body(100), a magnetic cell, a supporting unit, and a magnetic chamber(120). The steel plate is placed on the top surface of the body. The top surface of the body is divided into receiving grooves(111) and continuous magnetic cells. The blocking grooves intersect with the receiving grooves. The supporting unit is formed in an outer side of the magnetic cell at the same height of the magnetic cells. A permanent magnet(121) and an electromagnet(122) are received inside the magnetic chamber. The permanent magnet is arranged in the lower part of the magnetic cells. The electromagnet generates a magnetic force when power is supplied.
