PURPOSE: An upflow type sand filter for nitrogen and turbidity treatment is provided to automatically prevent sand from coagulating by automatically controlling an air introducing pipe. CONSTITUTION: An upflow type sand filter for nitrogen and turbidity treatment includes a filtering bath(10), an air flit part(20), a backwash part, a sand washing part(40), and an inclined part. The filtering bath includes a sand filtering layer, a feed water introducing pipe(12), a treated water discharging pipe(13), a dispersing cone(14), an air discharging pipe(15), a sand discharging pipe(16), and a draining pipe(17). The air lift part includes an air lift pipe, an air lift protective pipe, and an air pipe. The backwash part includes a backwash chamber(31), a backwash pipe(32), a backwash adjusting ring, and a sand dispersion preventive pipe(34). The sand washing part includes protrusions(41,42). The inclined part includes a support and a screw combining part.
