<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized position detecting device whose assembly/adjustment work is easy and by which satisfactory output characteristics are obtained, and a lens unit using the device. <P>SOLUTION: A holder 5 that holds a magnetoresistive element 3 has a protrusion, which is protruded in a direction approximately parallel with a sensitive surface of the magnetoresistive element 3 and orthogonal to a moving direction, on one end. A base 7 includes: a recess into which the protrusion is inserted; two protruded portions 21 which are disposed in a direction parallel with an optical axis and has two flat portions 25 which are parallel with each other; and positioning means for attaching the base 7 to a lens barrel. A shim is inserted between the flat portions 25 provided on a protruded portion 21 and the lens barrel, the base 7 is bent by using the protruded portion 21 as a base point in attaching the base 7 to the lens barrel by the positioning means, by which a gap between a magnetic recording medium and the magnetoresistive element 3 is adjusted. By changing the thickness of the shim, the distance from the base 7 to the lens barrel is adjusted, and the inclination of the magnetoresistive element 3 to the magnetic recording medium is corrected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
