A carbon electrode for an organic electrolytic device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve electric conductivity and to reduce self-discharge. A method for manufacturing a carbon electrode for an organic electrolytic device includes the steps of: manufacturing a mixed solution with uniformly mixed metal component and pitch by mixing an organic metal compound solution and a pitch solution; manufacturing pitch containing metal by removing an organic solvent from the mixed solution; manufacturing fibrous pitch containing metal by radiation-treating the pitch containing metal at a proper temperature or particulate pitch containing metal by powder-treating the pitch containing metal; heat-stabilizing and activating the fibrous pitch containing metal; and removing a compound containing oxygen from the heat-stabilized and activated fibrous pitch containing metal by heat-treating the fibrous pitch containing metal at an atmosphere of hydrogen gas at a temperature of 500 to 1200 degrees centigrade for 2 to 240 minutes. |
