<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of components of a fuel cell system, downsize the fuel cell system, and facilitate the maintenance of auxiliary machines or the like. <P>SOLUTION: One of end plates placed on both ends of a fuel cell stack 110 is integrated with a stack case, and the other end plate 117 is provided separately from the stack case. Auxiliary machines such as a hydrogen pump 118 and a gas liquid separator 124 are attached to the end plate 117, and the end plate 117 is fastened to the stack case with bolts. The auxiliary machines are covered by an auxiliary machine cover 136 attached to the end plate 117.
