A network selection and traffic offloading system for Android based mobile devices. The system is designed to provide a context aware "always best connected" (ABC) solution, selecting the best available network each time. The system supports two primary connectivity modes: a traditional single connectivity mode where the device is fully connected to either the cellular network or an ad-hoc WiFi network, and a Full Dual Mode, where both cellular and WiFi networks are used simultaneously while routing network sessions between them. The Full Dual Mode extends the definition of ABC from the device level to the application level, i.e. selecting the best network for each running application. |
