The method involves sending ultrasound impulse with impulse energy defined by impulse duration and impulse power. Echoes of the ultrasound impulse are received and processed. A verification is made whether critical objects lie in certain partial areas (B1, B1', B3, B3') within detection areas (Bmax-Sal, Bmax-Sar and Smr), which are maximum detected by certain ultrasound sensors (Sal, Sar). The sending of the ultrasound impulse, and receiving and processing of the echoes are repeated with the impulse energy and the other impulse energy dependent upon the result of the verification. An independent claim is also included for an ultrasound object detection system comprising a central processing unit. |
