<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly avoid such a condition that an NR feedback rate comes to be 100% state and an afterimage remains in an output image when performing a recursive NR process using an output image data of a previous frame which has undergone a data compression/expansion process. <P>SOLUTION: An NR process amount is calculated based on an input image data and an output image data of a previous frame. The NR process amount is outputted with no correction for the pixel of which NR feedback rate is less than 100% based on a compression error information, but is outputted after correction is applied for the feedback rate to be less than 100% about the pixel of which the NR feedback rate of noise reduction is 100% or more. An input image data is added with an NR process amount after correction to obtain an output image data. Only with the pixel of which the NR feedback rate is expected to be 100% or more, the NR process amount is used by making correction so that the feedback rate comes to be less than 100%. A state in which the NR feedback rate comes to be 100% and an afterimage remains in an output image can be avoided while maintaining NR effect. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
