<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing that has a long life and rotates at low torque even under an environment with foreign objects mixed. <P>SOLUTION: The roller bearing is constructed in such a manner that at least one of inner and outer rings and a roller element is made of steel containing C: 0.3-1.2 wt.%, Si: 0.3-2.2 wt.%, and Mn: 0.2-2.0 wt.%, the area rate of a nitride whose nitrogen concentration on the rolling surface is controlled to 0.2-2.0 wt.% by carbonitriding treatment or nitriding treatment and which contains Si and Mn is 1-20%, which satisfies γrAB-15≤γrC≤γrAB+15 (0≤γrAB and γrC≤50) where the residual austenite amount of the inner and outer ring track surface is defined as γrAB, and the residual austenite amount of the roller element rolling surface is defined as γrC, and the sealing amount of grease is 5-15% of the bearing space volume. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
