<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a sensor flag is provided as means for detecting a phase of a rotary so as to detect a position of a developing cartridge supported by the rotary, however, a sensor flag and an optical sensor for detecting a phase of the rotary need to be provided, which may prevent reduction in size and cost of an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A power-receiving contact connected with a developing roller of a developing cartridge, and a power-receiving contact connected with a developing blade detects change in voltage when each of the contacts comes into contact with a power-supply contact 104 and a power-supply contact 105.
