PURPOSE: A portable terminal and a method for securing transmission data between hardware modules thereof are provided to improve security of the portable terminal by encoding information inputted through a touch screen or a touch panel in a touch IC. CONSTITUTION: Data transmitted to a second hardware module from a first hardware module(1) is encoded with a first security key. A second hardware module(2) decodes the data encoded by the first security using a second security key. The first hardware module encodes input data using the first security key in a security mode which needs security for the input data. The second hardware module receives the input data which is encoded using the first security key in the security mode. The second hardware module decodes the input data, which is encoded using the first security key, using the second security key.
