<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for transmitting data for driving a plurality of dot forming elements via wireless communication while suppressing the deterioration of an image. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus comprises: a movement control means which moves a carriage having a print head; an ejection data creating means which creates data being ejection amount data indicating ejection amounts of inks ejected from the plurality of dot forming elements with respect to the plurality of dot forming elements, being data indicating a correspondence relationship between the ejection amount and waveforms of drive signals, and also being waveform selection data which are common in the plurality of dot forming elements; a transmission part which transmits the waveform selection data and the ejection amount data via the wireless communication; a reception part which is arranged at the carriage and receives the waveform selection data and the ejection amount data; and an ejection control means which is arranged at the carriage, and inputs the drive signals of waveforms associated with the ejection amount indicated by the ejection amount data to the plurality of dot forming elements at each ejection period in the correspondence relationship indicated by the waveform selection data.
