<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device including a shock absorbing means which achieves stable load displacement characteristics while using the plastic deformation of an absorbing member and enables the load displacement characteristics to be variously changed according to specification requirements. <P>SOLUTION: The steering device is configured in such a manner that the absorbing member 2 comprises a winding part 211 formed by winding a metal plate 21 from one end thereof without any gaps and a linear part 212 extending from the outermost tangential direction of the winding part 211 toward the other end of the metal plate, the other end of the linear part 212 directed rearward from the front winding part 211 is fixed to a vehicle body side, a pressurization flange 411 moved forward together with a steering column 1 projects to the rear part of the winding part 211, and the pressurization flange 411 moving forward together with the steering column 1 having received a shock pushes and extends the winding part 211 of the absorbing member 2, and thus shock energy is absorbed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
