<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a process time required for image reading in the case where a blank original is included in originals, relating to an image reader which constitutes an image formation apparatus having an image reading function such as a copier, a facsimile apparatus, and a scanner. <P>SOLUTION: The image reader includes blank region detecting means which detects a blank region in the original that has been read, and reading control means which performs a reading skip process of the original in the case where a detected amount of blank regions detected continuously exceeds a predetermined blank original determination reference amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
