<p>A heat exchanger has an inner tube or pipe 12 coaxial with and surrounding an outer tube 14, with an intermediate space 13, with a separating web or rib 28 extending between the tubes to form flow channels 22, the channels being in fluidic contact (e.g. at an interruption or gap in a web) in an axial section of the tubes (fig 4, 24) so that in the vicinity of a curve or bend fluid can bypass constriction of the channels. The webs may be aligned in the axial direction and the ends of the webs may align in the circumferential direction. The webs may be moulded or integrated with the inner tube. The length of a single web may be between 15mm-60mm, and the length of the gap may be between 2mm-12mm. The heat exchanger may form part of a motor vehicle air conditioning system.</p> |
