The invention relates to a capsule for receiving an extraction product such as coffee and for use in an extraction machine. The capsule has a bottom (27), a side wall (25) connected to the bottom (27), an opening situated opposite to the bottom (27), and a cover (13) for closing the opening (12). The cover (13) is provided with an outlet layer (14) made of plastic for letting the extract out of the capsule. This outlet layer (14) has a plurality of weakness areas (17) which are designed to tear as a result of the pressure, acting outwardly from inside the capsule (11), of the extraction fluid passed through the capsule (11) and to form a plurality of filter openings which are so small that the extraction product cannot exit through the filter openings.
