A decorative and protective pad for external body parts, mainly for thresholds and/or rear bumper of a car, comprises a base bed of stainless steel. A profile of the inner surface of bed corresponds to the profile of the external element of body. At least a portion of the outer surface of the base bed has microgrooves formed by delustering or satining. The surface of base bed comprises a protective oxide layer formed by acid passivation.
