<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball having a high rebound resilience and durability, having an excellent feel on impact, and having a low spin rate to travel a good distance even when hit at a low speed. <P>SOLUTION: The golf ball includes a core 1, an intermediate layer 2 covering the core 1, and a cover layer 3 which covers the intermediate layer 2 and has on an outside surface thereof a plurality of dimples D. Resin materials of the intermediate layer 2 and the cover layer 3 are formed of an ionomer resin-containing thermoplastic resin. A surface hardness of the core 1 is specified, and is lower than the hardness of the intermediate layer 2. The cover layer 3 is harder than the intermediate layer 2. Letting A be the thickness of the intermediate layer 2, B be the thickness of the cover layer 3 and C be the diameter of the core 1, 65≥C/A≥30 and 65≥C/B≥30. In addition, the ball has an initial velocity, as measured by a method set forth in the Rules of Golf using an initial velocity measuring apparatus of the same type as the USGA drum rotation-type initial velocity instrument, of at least 77.0 m/s. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
