PURPOSE: An apparatus for opening and shutting a manhole for escaping a fire place in a multistory building is provided to open the exit of a manhole by rotating a lower cover. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for opening and shutting a manhole for escaping a fire place in a multistory building comprises bottom wall(1), a manhole, an upper frame(3), a lower frame(4), a plurality of frame supports(5), and upper and lower covers(6,7). The upper frame is installed in the upper entrance of the manhole. The lower frame is installed in the lower exit of the upper and lower manholes. The upper cover opens the entrance of the manhole. The lower cover is folded by being pivoted around a central axis. The upper and lower covers open and close the upper and lower ends of the manhole. The upper cover can rotate through a hinge. The lower cover is connected to the upper cover through a lower cover opening and closing device.
