摘要 PURPOSE: A body type verifying method for a thermotherapy device is provided to calculate the backbone length of a patient based on the operational currents of a horizontal motor and to accurately verify the positions of the cervical vertebra, the thoracic vertebra, the lumbar vertebra, and the coccyx of the backbone. CONSTITUTION: A controlling part operates a cauter(110) by using a horizontal motor(140) in order to scan the entire backbone of a patient. The backbone length of a patient is calculated based on the operational currents of the horizontal motor. A first body type verifying point is detected from the first vertebra or the tenth vertebra based on the measured curve of the operational currents. A second body type verifying point is detected by measuring the difference of the operational currents of the horizontal motor between the current position and the preceding position of the cauter. The length of the entire backbone and lengths of vertebrae are calculated based on the standard data of the backbone in database and the two body type verifying points.
