The flow meter (1) has a connection flange (3) provided on a terminal end of a measuring tube (2) and for connecting the flow meter to a process flange (5) of a pipeline (6). A seal (7) is arranged between the connection flange and the process flange in an assembly state. A sealing contour of the seal is formed in two planes at each connection side (4) of the measuring tube, and height of the seal is varied over its entire radial extension, so that the height of the seal is adapted to the planes of the sealing contour. The seal is made of a plastic material such as PTFE.
