<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce optical crosstalk in the case of using a body composed of transparent material. <P>SOLUTION: An optical communication module comprises a body 10 composed of transparent material, an LED package 11, a PD package 12, an optical waveguide core 13 and an optical waveguide cladding 14, a wavelength selective mirror 15, and an optical fiber 16. An air space 17 is provided between the LED package 11 and the body 10. Also, the light-receiving surface of the PD package is positioned in an area of a PD mounting surface which is not reached by light from the LED package 11.
