Producing illuminated, holographic media comprising a photopolymer formulation with a module G(UV) of 0.1-160 MPa and a refractive index contrast (delta n) >= 0.008, comprises: providing (i) a photopolymer formulation comprising (a) matrix polymer as an amorphous network, (b) a combination of monofunctional- and multifunctional writing monomers, (c) a photoinitiator system; (ii) bringing the photopolymer formulation in the form of a media; (iii) subjecting the media to a holographic illumination experiment to write the hologram; and (iv) illuminating the medium to UV radiation. Producing illuminated, holographic media comprising a photopolymer formulation with a module G(UV) of 0.1-160 MPa and a refractive index contrast (delta n) >= 0.008, comprises: providing (i) a photopolymer formulation comprising (a) matrix polymer as an amorphous network, (b) a combination of monofunctional- and multifunctional writing monomers, (c) a photoinitiator system, (d) optionally a non-photopolymerizable component, (e) optionally catalysts, radical stabilizers, solvents, additives, other auxiliary and/or additive substances; (ii) bringing the photopolymer formulation in the form of a media; (iii) subjecting the media to a holographic illumination experiment to write the hologram; and (iv) illuminating the medium as a whole to UV radiation to fix the hologram. The writing monomer is an acrylate- and/or methacrylate-functionalized compound. The total content of the writing monomer in the photopolymer formulation is 0-45 wt.% and, the non-illuminated photopolymer formulation exhibits a modulus G 0of less than 0.7 MPa. The G(UV) module of the illuminated photopolymer formulation is adjusted to 0.1-160 MPa over the ratio of the relative proportion of the monofunctional writing monomer to the relative proportion of the multifunctional writing monomer in the total writing monomer content so that a high modulus is achieved by a high relative proportion of the multi-functional writing monomer and a lower module is achieved by a high relative proportion of the monofunctional writing monomer on the total writing monomer content. An independent claim is also included for the illuminated holographic medium, obtained by the above method. |
