The method involves bringing out a bulk material, particularly lignite coal, from a pressure tank (10,12,14,16) under a pressure, which greater than the pressure over an outlet opening (32) while an inlet opening (38) is closed. Another pressure tank is filled with the bulk material through the inlet opening when the outlet opening is closed. The bulk material is discharged through the outlet opening on application of pressure on a closed inlet opening (30,46) of the third pressure tank.
