<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain optimum power generation performance of an electrolyte membrane/electrode structure by performing temperature control corresponding to deterioration in the electrolyte membrane/electrode structure. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell 10 comprises a plurality of laminated power generation units 12. A method for operating the fuel cell 10 includes: a step of presetting a temperature of a cooling medium, at which a maximum output can be obtained from an MEA corresponding to an output drop situation of the MEA; a step of determining the output drop situation of the MEA by detecting an output voltage at a predetermined current value while continuously operating the fuel cell 10; and a step of operating the fuel cell 10 at a temperature of the cooling medium, the temperature corresponding to the determined output drop situation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
