The disk has a flat, disk-shaped base body (2) rotatable around a central axis (1). The base body exhibits two different thicknesses that are located in a central region (3) and an annular edge region (6), respectively, where one of the thicknesses is smaller than the other thickness. The edge region is provided with a slot-like recess or slit-like recess arranged in a circumferential direction, where the edge region is covered with abrasive particles. A central recess retains a mounting portion (11) of a shaft (12). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a dental grinding disk.
