The invention relates to a Doherty amplifier comprising a main amplifier (110) and a peak amplifier (115) having their respective inputs connected to an input hybrid coupler (125). The outputs of the main amplifier (110) and the peak amplifier (115) are interconnected via an impedance transforming network (130). While the main amplifier (110) comprises an amplifying transistor of a first transistor technology (e.g. GaN), the peak amplifier (115) comprises a transistor of a second transistor technology (e.g. LDMOS) being different from the first transistor technology. |
